The Firefly Forest

Welcome to The Firefly Forest... where children find themselves in nature. 

Mission: To inspire free play in nature and provide nature-based learning resources for children by means of free online classes, videos and other resources.

The Firefly Forest is a 100% online program. We create classes, activities, crafts and other resources to teach kiddos about the natural world. Free play in nature is absolutely essential for the healthy development of children. 

Miss Jen is a forest school instructor, homesteader and lifelong explorer of nature. She leads classes that, we hope, will teach your children while also creating a sense of adventure, inspiration, connection, peace and play.

As a culture, we often have an incredible disconnect from nature. The beauty of acknowledging an area in our lives that has room for improvement is that we can choose to do better. As parents/caregivers, it's up to us to provide our children with the opportunity to healthfully develop. The Firefly Forest was created to support parents with helpful tools to support their children's access to and relationship with the natural world.

The Firefly Forest falls under the umbrella of both The Firefly Fields and The Firefly Fields Nature Center. As a team, we strive to make this alternative education model accessible to all children and to support their parents and caregivers along the way. The Firefly Forest offers videos, articles and downloadable items... all of which are completely free.
